The first website built by the man who created Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, is believed to be entitled Mark’s Homepage and saw the light in 1999 when Zuckerberg was only 15 years old. On his page, Zuckerberg had many sections: A java drawing tool, a tool that shows connections between people entitled “The Web” which seems to be the beginning of his social network idea, a magnetic poetry tool that allows you to create sentences with a series of available words and many other services. The website is a very basic one hosted on Angelfire and can be accessed by clicking here.

The Web: A primitive version of Facebook?
In the “About Me” section you can find a funny/ridiculous text that serves as a self-description by Zuckerberg:
Hi, my name is…Slim Shady. No, really, my name is Slim Shady. Just kidding, my name is Mark (for those of you that don’t know me) and I live in a small town near the massive city of New York. I am currently 15 years old and I just finished freshman year in high school. I have remodeled this website in an attempt that perhaps some search engine will recognize it. I am trying to promote my new AOL Program, The Vader Fader, which you can download elsewhere on this site. It is a decent fader. If you have any comments about this website, the java applets on it, or the Vader Fader which I am trying to promote, please contact me. My E-Mail address is at the bottom of this page.
While it is clear that the guy behind this website is named Mark, there is no written proof that this is Mark Zuckerberg. However, by taking a look at the source of the page you will find meta tags proving that the author of the page is Mark Zuckerberg.
