Apple held yesterday the annual WWDC, a conference made exclusively for developers, and they announced: OS X 10.9 Mavericks (the new operating system for MacBook), the beautiful new Mac Pro, the new MacBook Air and most importantly iOS 7 (the new mobile operating system for iPhones, iPads and iPods).
With iOS 7 Apple made major changes to its mobile operating system and most importantly decided to use a simple, minimal and flat design. Now that new design is quite nice but I really dislike the icon designs! Opinions about this shift to simplicity in design varies: some really loved it while others didn’t and this is in part due to the fact that many are used to the actual one and thus may start liking the new one later on. The new iOS also brought many changes in terms of features and here is a list of the major new features shown in pictures.
iOS 7 will be released to the public in the coming Fall. I would really like to get your opinion about this new operating system so please feel free to post a comment below this post.
Here are some extra pictures. You can check the captions for explanations.
The app store can show you the most popular apps according to your location.
If your phone is stolen you can lock it even it is turned off. This is a new feature in “Find My iPhone”.
You will need your apple ID and your password to unlock it.
iTunes Radio is a new service that is pretty similar to Pandora and Spotify.
Listen to personalized Radio channels streaming songs based on a selected track or artist.
You can now check all the links shared by your friends or followings on social networks.
The control center can be opened by sliding from bottom to top. A great way to turn on/off some phone modes and other changes very quickly.
Now this is what you see when you click twice on the home button.
The new notification center.
The new Siri design.
And say hello to iOS in the car. A service available with some selected car manufacturers that allows you to push iOS from your mobile device to your car screen.
