
When Leo Burnett Celebrates A Cannes Creativity Award With An “Inspired” Ad!
I stumbled upon a Leo Burnett + McDonald’s ad celebrating the latest award they received at Cannes for the Creative Marketer of the Year. The visual entitled ‘Fryworks’ shows fireworks made of McDonald’s fries. It directly reminded me of a Barilla new year ad I posted on my Facebook page some time ago! The resemblance is striking.
We’re seeing quite often ‘inspired’ ads even with big agencies like Leo Burnett and honestly I am starting to consider a bit the arguments stating that those are sometimes coincidences. I am not sure what happened here but this was maybe not the best way to celebrate an award for creativity…
